DESCRIPTION:The workshop Information Retrieval 2023 of the Special Interest
Group on Information Retrieval within the German Gesellschaft für Informat

 s. It takes place in the context of the LWDA „Learning, Knowledge, Data, An
alysis“ conference from 9 to 11 October 2023 at the Philipps University of
Marburg, Germany. This workshop continues a successful series of workshops
of the GI Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval (http://fg-retrie

sues in any area of Information Retrieval. We invite submissions, both from
industry and academia, describing:\n\n Original research contributions O
ngoing and recently finished research at the graduate level (M.Sc./Ph.D.)
Running research projects or project proposals Resources (e.g., novel test
beds or software tools) Negative results (including a careful failure anal

her engineering-oriented projects, incomplete projects, less mature researc

Submissions are welcome in English and German. All papers have to be format

ART.zip. It also contains DOCX template files. Papers are to be submitted a
s PDF files to EasyChair. Please select the track "FGIR".\n\nAll submission
s will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. All authors of ac
cepted submissions will be invited to the workshop to present their work. A
ccepted research and in-practice papers (full papers and short papers) will
also be included in the proceedings that are published at http://ceur-ws.o
rg/ and indexed within DBLP.\n\nAll workshop participants have to register
for the LWDA 2023 conference. We would like to make the workshop a lively d
iscussion forum and we will therefore ask authors and reviewers to outline
the main questions to be discussed before the actual workshop.\n\nIntended
Audience\n\nThe target group includes researchers and practitioners who are
interested in developing, applying and analyzing information retrieval sys
tems as well as application scenarios. The workshop is also a great and aff
ordable platform for young researchers to present their work to a larger gr
oup of researchers and get valuable feedback. Doctorate and Master’s studen
ts are especially encouraged to participate and discuss their ideas with wo
rld-renowned experts. Next to research papers, we invite you to submit in-p
